$50,000 in Five Weeks: Sustain Revolution!

Revolution newspaper is in the midst of a sustainer drive to raise $50,000 in five weeks. Here are a few of comments we received along with donations and sustainer pledges in the last week:

Sorry I haven't been able to respond earlier. I am currently going through some personal crisis. As you are probably aware, I reside in [a city in Texas, the home state of] the Fuhrer, Gee Dubya, and obviously this area is full of fascists. I do however manage to hand out the Revolution to family friends and also leave copies at the food market that we frequent...

I currently draw 603$ a month SSI, but can pledge 10$ a month to help further the cause...

As a Vietnam draftee, I experienced firsthand the horror this system unleashes upon the people of the world. And, also, what it does to us and our psyches. At an early age, I saw through America’s veneer and realized that this society was empty and alienating and that I was just marking time. While trying to understand and challenge the world I was living in, I found Revolution. I have been reading it for the past 30 years, and doing what I can. It is the only serious analysis and opposition out there that points a road forward. You need to find a way to support this newspaper.

What about you?

Readers get from Revolution a perspective they can find only in a newspaper that represents the outlook of the class of people on this planet with nothing to lose, no stake in the present order, and no need or desire to pull punches or cover up the abuses of the system. A solid base of financial sustainers is especially important now, when so much is at stake, and when Bush--as a concentration of the horrors of this system--is steering a course with such dangers for the people but also with the potential to create openings for revolutionary struggle. With a sustainer base, we can expand and improve our coverage, dramatically increase our distribution, improve the look and accessibility of our print and web editions, fulfill the requests of prisoners for subsidized subscriptions, and radically increase our impact on society.
