Join in raising funds for Stop Patriarchy's
Emergency Abortion Rights Efforts in Mississippi and Albuquerque

StopPatriarchy.org has launched a crowd-funding campaign to support its efforts to defend abortion rights where they are most under attack and to do this as part of building nation-wide resistance to defeat the whole war on women. Read more about our plans to defend the last abortion clinic in Mississippi from Christian fascist fanatics from October 29-November 6 and to oppose a ban on all abortions after 20 weeks pregnancy in Albuquerque, New Mexico from November 15-17, here: Two Concentrations of the Fight Over Abortion Rights Loom in November; Everyone Who Supports Abortion Rights Must Rally in Mississippi and Albuquerque.

If you can join us in Mississippi and/or Albuquerque let us know right away—your participation will make a big difference!

Either way, on Saturday, October 26, join us in a fundraising surge. Make a donation yourself, call others to do the same, and participate in a “Twitter Storm” to raise at least $2,000 towards the $15,000 needed for this effort in one day.

Already, someone who generously supported last summer's Abortion Rights Freedom Ride has pledged a $1,000 matching contribution which will double the first $1,000 raised on Oct. 26. We thank them and we call on you to join them as part of a community that is standing up to defeat the war on women.

Five things you can do to make this fund-surge a success:

  1. Make a donation on Saturday, October 26 at: igg.me/at/abortionrightsemergency/x/338895
  2. Call friends, family, teachers, co-workers, and others you know on Saturday and ask them to do the same. Whether they can give $5 or $5,000—every contribution makes a difference, every contribution shows that another person standing up.
  3. If you are in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, or the Bay Area, contact StopPatriarchy@gmail.com to join a phone-banking team that will be together making calls throughout the day.
  4. Tweet 20 times on Saturday! If you are on Twitter, be part of the Twitter Storm on Saturday by tweeting at least 20 times throughout the day. You can also spread this on Facebook!

THE URGENT NEED

In the summer of 2013, StopPatriarchy.org led a 15 state, one month long Abortion Rights Freedom Ride caravan responding to the state of emergency surrounding abortion rights nationwide. But that was just a beginning. We made a commitment and we are seeing it through.

Now: in the month of November, StopPatriarchy.org is mobilizing a national response to the two most concentrated assaults on women's right to abortion.

Oct 29-Nov 6: We are traveling to Jackson, MS where a woman-hating Christian fascist organization will lay siege to and terrorize the last abortion clinic in Mississippi.

Nov 15-17: We are traveling to Albuquerque, New Mexico where a ballot initiative would ban abortion at 20 weeks, thereby shutting down half the third-trimester abortion providers in the country.

We call on you to join with and support this effort because it is immoral to abandon the women of Mississippi and New Mexico. And it is delusional to think that if these assaults are not resisted and defeated now, similar attacks on women's right to abortion won't soon confront women everywhere else.

What difference your donation will make:

$15,000 will provide funds for air travel, vehicle rental and living expenses for a crew of full-time organizers, including some inspiring young activists, for Oct 29-Nov 6 in Jackson, Mississippi and for Nov. 15-17 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It will pay for thousands of leaflets, palm-cards and other materials and enable us to reach out to and involve people nationwide in this fight. And it will strengthen the overall movement that Stop Patriarchy is building to defeat all forms of enslavement and degradation of women.
