A Call to Action with a single unifying objective: NO! This Fascist Regime Must Be Stopped Before It Starts! has been issued by Cornel West; rapper Vic Mensa; director Joe Dante; writer Alice Walker; poet and musician Saul Williams; musician (MC5) Wayne Kramer; actor David Strathairn; revolutionary communist Carl Dix; biologist PZ Myers; painter Danny Simmons; Yusef Salaam, of the Central Park 5; Chase Iron Eyes and Everett Iron Eyes, Sr. from the Standing Rock Sioux and many others.

"In the Name of Humanity, We REFUSE To Accept a Fascist America" has been signed by over 2,000 people including prominent scientists, artists, intellectuals, activists and religious leaders. It warns that Trump is "assembling a regime of grave danger" whose fascist character "renders it illegitimate and an immoral peril to the future of humanity and the earth itself."

"A Southerner, Fascism was well known growing up," Alice Walker states. "So this 'new' fascist America is a redux, All the more unbearable for being so. Who wants to go back there?"

The group has launched a campaign to raise $100,000 to publish its Call and reach and organize millions. This Call to Action is being issued days before planned New Year's eve protests—a "Festival of NO!"—across the U.S. Two weeks of rolling protests will follow, with NO! reverberating throughout society, culminating on MLK Weekend with massive demonstrations of many thousands in key cities, including Washington, DC, that grow to millions over the next week, protests that don’t stop... where people refuse to leave and more and more people stand up with conviction and courage demanding: "NO! We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!"
