Stephen Hawking’s prediction for humanity and why the Trump/Pence regime must GO!

Last November, Stephen Hawking, the renowned theoretical physicist, said humans have 1,000 years to leave Earth, or risk being annihilated. Most recently, in a speech he delivered to the Starmus Festival, a science/musical gathering in Norway, Hawking explained why he now believes that within 200-500 years, mankind will have to relocate elsewhere in the universe or face extinction.
In his speech titled “The future of humanity,” Hawking pointed to extraterrestrial dangers like asteroids, black holes, super nova, and solar radiation. And then he pointed to the human causes: “Humans have outgrown the planet, and have stripped it of resources.... We have given our planet the destructive gift of climate change, rising temperatures, reduction of the polar ice caps, deforestation and decimation of animal species, and we cannot be ignorant.” (Emphasis added)
On July 2, Hawking told the BBC that “We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible.” “Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of 250 degrees, and raining sulphuric acid.” Hawking said climate change is one great danger we can prevent if we act now. “By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children.”
Hawking is one of many who fear for the Earth, right now, due to climate change. This year, The World Economic Forum surveyed 750 experts on what the most likely and impactful risks facing humanity are in 2017. At the top was extreme weather events and food and water crises which are caused in part by global warming. (See http://www.climatecentral.org/news/climate-change-worlds-biggest-risk-charts-21050.)
The Earth is our only home. The likelihood of finding and traveling to another planet that could sustain human life in any foreseeable future seems more than remote. What is more likely is that we, the people of Earth, can save this planet from the peril it faces from capitalism-imperialism through revolution, and one of our most immediate missions to save this planet is to get rid of the Trump/Pence Regime that believes climate change is “fake news.”
As the call for the July 15 protest and demand that THE TRUMP/PENCE REGIME MUST GO! In the Name of Humanity, We REFUSE to Accept a Fascist America! states, one of the seven reasons the Regime must GO is:
THE EARTH AND THE SPECIES WHO INHABIT IT—including humanity—should sustain life and not be despoiled by ignorance, greed, and the disregard for science. NO! We will not accept the cruel and brutal future of the Trump/Pence Regime...They must GO!
