Earlier this year, revcom published a special issue of Revolution, in English and Spanish, featuring the full text of the speech by Bob Avakian (BA), THE TRUMP/PENCE REGIME MUST GO! In The Name of Humanity, We REFUSE To Accept a Fascist America. A Better World IS Possible. This was in order to get this crucial talk by BA into the hands of those locked up in America’s dungeons, who can’t watch the film of the talk online. The following is one of the letters sent to the Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund (PRFL) in response to the special issue. (Go here for other prisoner responses.)

PRLF,

As a prisoner who has been given the opportunity to engage and grapple with the path-breaking works of Bob Avakian, and who is striving in becoming a revolutionary communist, I have come to understand in a scientific and living way how vitally important it is for us to promote and spread the liberating leadership of BA and the new synthesis of communism throughout society and the world.

Bob Avakian’s uncompromising and historic talk THE TRUMP/PENCE REGIME MUST GO! not only digs deeply into the roots and dynamics of the fascism we confront, but also shows how the movement to drive out this regime interpenetrates with building a movement for an actual revolution.

This special issue of the Revolution, as well as the weekly compiled articles we receive, has played a crucial role in introducing BA and blazing a path to a much more broader discussion in terms of the American empire and how the “normal workings” of this worldwide system of global exploitation has now brought fascists to power.

Most importantly, to learn that a better world is possible and the need to break free from the “established norms” and “acceptable limits,” as well as the poisonous outlook of American chauvinism continues to be very liberating and inspirational to many people who hate everything Trump is about and to everyone with a heart for humanity.

It is with this spirit that I would like for PRLF to arm me with the following materials if possible: 1) Set the Record Straight by Raymond Lotta, 2) Break All the Chains! Bob Avakian on the Emancipation of Women and the Communist Revolution, 3) Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America, 4) HOW WE CAN WIN—How We Can Really Make Revolution.

As Ardea Skybreak pointed out in the book Science and Revolution: “And no matter what your circumstances and conditions of life are, or have been, you can definitely learn to be scientific. And it’s a very liberating feeling to take up the basic scientific methods even in your everyday thinking and everyday life, as well as around more strategic questions involved in how to radically change society for the better.”
