Trump & Pence Move Ahead with Fascist Agenda:
Don't Conciliate...Don't Accommodate... Don't Collaborate
Trump-Pence in power will signal a terrible leap backward in every sphere of society which people are struggling today to change, while running a significantly greater risk of nuclear war and an accelerated pace of environmental destruction; but it is worse than that. It will mean—and feature as its driving edge—severe and pervasive political and social repression and, with that, a deep poisoning of the “soul” of society. This is what has happened in fascist countries in Europe in the ’30s and Latin America in the ’70s and ’80s... and what happened in the American South with the betrayal of Reconstruction and the imposition of 90 years of Jim Crow, enforced by lynch-mob terror on Black people, especially in the South.
The Trump-Pence Regime Must Be Stopped Before It Starts, and We Must Be The Ones To Stop It!
At the December 19 emergency organizing meeting in NYC, Carl Dix challenges those who dismiss the dangers of Trump by saying "Black people have been through this before..." to look at how the KKK killed thousands of Black people after betrayal of the Reconstruction after the Civil War.

It is extremely important to step back from the immediate situation and the terms in which things are presented to us, and ask: How did we get to the situation where the choices, the framework and limits we are supposed to accept are marked at one end by outright fascists and at the other end by someone [Bill Clinton] who, as even a mainstream columnist describes him, is the most conservative Democratic President since Truman, who heads a Democratic administration that has served as an aggressive and effective instrument in a many-sided reactionary offensive against the basic masses and broader sections of people? Where will we be, before long, and what will the future look like, if people, especially those who see the need to oppose this reactionary offensive, nevertheless are convinced to confine their political objectives and activity within the logic and dynamic that has led us to the present situation? And, most importantly, how do we get out of this situation? The answer is that it must and can only be done by mobilizing broad ranks of people, uniting people from many different strata and walks of life, to build determined resistance to this whole reactionary program and to transform the whole terms of political contention and struggle, the whole "political terrain"—resistance that is not limited to and does not rely on the very political structures, institutions and processes that are the means through which this reactionary offensive is being carried out and given "legitimacy."
