"Next Wednesday, October 22, 2014, there will be a march in downtown Los Angeles to protest Mass Incarceration, Police Terror, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation. I plan to be at this march, because I believe that we have reached a critical moment in our national history when we need to say no to those who have turned our criminal justice system into a new form of domination and racial control. I hope that you will give serious thought and prayer to being there as well....The religious community must be well-represented at this event. I encourage you and members of your faith community to take time out of your day on October 22 to be a part of this vitally important opportunity to make our voice known as we say "No more!" This is a crucial moment and our voices are tremendously important."

Tef Po calls for O22 at FergusonOctober

2,000 people marched and rallied in Ferguson, Missouri on Saturday, October 11 to demand JUSTICE—for Michael Brown and an END to police murder, brutality and racial profiling. At the end of the rally poet Tef Po told the crowd, “we got a lot of work to do now” and went on to say, “For those of you who don’t know, October 22 is the national day of action against police brutality. Let me say that one more time. October 22 is the National Day of ACTION—DAY OF ACTION, ACTION against police brutality. It’s not the day of watch your TV. It’s not the day to sit at home. It’s not the day of clipping our toe nails. It’s not the day of watering the grass. It’s a day of ACTION on a NATIONAL LEVEL against police brutality. So what that means is we need you to take this energy back home, take it back home, harness it, think about it, marinate in it, feel inspired, feel motivated, go home and turn your city out.”
