Tucker Carlson’s On-Air Endorsement of Cold-Blooded Murder
| revcom.us
After a white 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday on charges of shooting at protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, killing two and wounding one, Tucker Carlson of Fox “News” said on the air, “So are we really surprised that looting and arson accelerated to murder? How shocked are we that 17-year-olds with rifles decided they had to maintain order when no one else would?”
This is straight-up justification for cold-blooded murder.
The alleged shooter was among the white fascist thugs that began to roam the streets of Kenosha after the people rose up in righteous rebellion against the outrageous pig shooting of Jacob Blake Jr. These fascist militia gunmen, many in full combat gear, threatened and attacked protesters under the guise of “defending property.” The police, who used heavy tear gas and other violent repression against protesters, allowed the fascist gunmen free rein.
Armed fascists like these have been attacking protesters around the country for months now. And they have been encouraged by Fascist-in-Chief Trump. At the opening of the Republican National Convention on Monday, Trump declared that “Second Amendment people”—that is, the very kind of armed fascists attacking protesters in Kenosha—could “take care” of Portland in a day. Less than 36 hours later, protesters were gunned down in Kenosha.
As revcom.us said in the statement on the shooting of protesters in Kenosha:
The fascists and racists, led by Trump, are not just escalating their threats and but making good on them. They are showing you what another term for Donald Trump will mean. If this fascist dog gets another term, either through “winning” the election or preventing it or stealing it, this will mean the slamming back of Black people and other people of color to a situation even worse – qualitatively worse – than today, one in which people will have no rights whatsoever and the threat of genocide will be real and present. And this will be just one of the horrible crimes that will go on far worse than it does today, far worse than most of us can imagine.
