"The Declaration of Independence (and Related Questions):
Inventions and Distortions of Reality and History-- In the Service of Real and Repeated Atrocity"
Part 1: "Profound Inequality, Brutal Oppression—and Crude Distortion of the Actual Foundation and Nature of this Country"
Bob Avakian (BA) is a radically different leader. He has developed a whole new framework for human emancipation, the new communism. Today, after 50 years in the revolutionary movement, BA continues to throw his all into identifying in a sweeping way, what humanity is up against, why we’re in that situation; where we can and need to go; how to get there; and all the obstacles that stand in our way. His profound, critical and timely new series on the Declaration of Independence (And Related Questions) is an example of what he has been doing.
We encourage everyone to join Carl Dix and the RevCom Corps for the Emancipation of Humanity for a series of discussions digging into this work, starting Monday, June 29 at Revolution Books in Harlem. Read Part 1...

Discussion of Pt. 1 from THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE (And Related Questions): INVENTIONS AND DISTORTIONS OF REALITY AND HISTORY—IN THE SERVICE OF REAL AND REPEATED ATROCITY
Here it’s worth stepping back and reviewing the history of this country and the system in this country from the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution to today—to the thoroughly outmoded monstrosity of capitalism-imperialism. At the beginning of this country, at the initiation of the war of independence (which they like to call a revolutionary war), it was declared that “all men are created equal.” But the whole history of this country from that time forward has proven that it is definitely not the case within this country that there is equality for all. Even at the time when the Declaration of Independence and then the Constitution were written, there were huge numbers of slaves. There were Native Americans whose land was being stolen and who were being subjected to genocidal atrocity. There were women who basically had no rights, and certainly none equal to men. There was, in short, a system of exploitation which was given further impetus by breaking free of British colonialism.1
