Large crowds rally against Trump at 'No Kings' protests across the US | CNN
On Saturday, October 18, millions of people took to the streets in big cities and small town in opposition to Trump's fascist agenda in what could be the largest national day of protest in U.S. history. This was in the face of threats and slander from the Trump fascist regime.
From hundreds of thousands in major cities like Washington DC, New York, Chicago, and Boston to smaller cities and towns, including in many rural areas, people marched and rallied.
Many carried creative home-made signs denouncing Trump. Some wore costumes in celebration of the whimsy that has been expressed in the streets of Portland exposing the illegitimacy of the violent threats from the Trump fascist regime. Millions and millions expressed a deep agonizing and outrage of the moves of the Trump regime: gutting the rule of law, attacking immigrants, the hatred of women and LGBT people, the gutting of the separation of powers and sending the U.S. military into cities. Many expressed fear and anger at how they see Trump's violations of what they think America should be. Palestinian flags could be seen throughout the protests in opposition to the U.S.-backed Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people. The protests were all saturated with a profound contempt for Trump himself, and the whole fascist program and vicious ethos he represents.
The millions in the streets struck a powerful blow at Trump's pretentions at legitimacy. This obviously got under Trump's skin who responded with AI videos of him wearing a crown and Democrats bowing, and another truly grotesque one of him dropping waves of shit on protesters from a fighter jet. While it's disgusting to even have to write this, it shows just how sick and vicious Trump and his movement is.
As important as this massive day of protest was, one day of protest is not enough to unseat this illegitimate fascist regime. This points all the more urgently to the call initiated by Refuse Fascism, and open to all: for millions to flood DC, the seat of power, beginning on November 5 in determined nonviolent protest that does not stop until Trump is removed.
