You see the state of things in this world:

… where the Supreme Court is moving to eliminate abortion while the “so-called” pro-choice women’s movement tells you to do nothing but prepare to adjust to “the new reality”

… where the environment is going up in flames and the environmental movement lectures you that you shouldn’t be pessimistic, while the Democratic Party they promote as saviors raises the amount of fossil fuel production

… where Black, Latino and Native people continue to get cut down or brutalized by police while Black mayors and Biden himself call for MORE police

… where Ukraine is brutally attacked by Russia and the U.S. is promoted as the savior of the world and something seems very wrong and very dangerous to you but you’re not sure what.

… and where the specter of a full fascist takeover looms more sharply every day….

And you wonder if anything can be done.

Well, there’s an answer. There’s a way out—or rather, a way forward. But it takes science, to understand where this comes from and why. It takes strategy to figure out what kind of change is needed and how to make it. It takes leadership to make that analysis. It takes a movement, aiming at and seriously building for REVOLUTION—nothing less! It takes media that gives you the tools you need so that you can scientifically understand what’s going on and go to work on changing it the only way it fundamentally can be changed—through revolution. And that’s what you get here and at our sister platform, The RNL—Revolution, Nothing Less!—Show on YouTube.

Repolarizing for Revolution

Let’s get into it. Yes, the polarization we described is bad, very bad. But within that polarization lies the possibility for something better… indeed something truly emancipatory.

Bob Avakian, BA, the revolutionary leader and the author of the new communism, went deeply into the problem, and the solution, in a very important talk this past fall, Something Terrible, Or Something Truly Emancipating: Profound Crisis, Deepening Divisions, The Looming Possibility Of Civil War—And The Revolution That Is Urgently Needed. A Necessary Foundation, A Basic Roadmap For That Revolution. He said that:

… The crisis and deep divisions in society can only be resolved through radical means, of one kind or another—either radically reactionary, murderously oppressive and destructive means or radically emancipating revolutionary means.

With all this, what is urgently needed, what is possible—and what must be actively, tirelessly worked for, in order for there to truly be a positive outcome to all this—is a fundamentally different alignment in the country as a whole: a Repolarization that is favorable for, and brings forward the necessary forces for, Revolution—a real revolution to overthrow this system, and bring into being a radically different and much better system.

That’s the theme of this week’s guide: speaking to sharp questions and acting together with others on a number of urgent fronts to Repolarize for Revolution, and to bring further into reality those “radically emancipatory revolutionary means.”

The Fight For Abortion Rights: Before you read anything, and even if you’ve read it before, read Bob Avakian on “The Fight For Abortion Rights And The Emancipation of Women.” This cuts through the fog that has intentionally been put out by the Democratic Party and the "so-called" leaders of the “so-called" pro-choice movement to clarify the real stakes of the move to eliminate abortion rights—coming to a head this spring at the Supreme Court. Then, get the new flyer from Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights, calling for very important actions this Friday and Saturday. Read, or watch, Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights initiator Sunsara Taylor’s interview with Sikivu Hutchinson, “Almost Apocalyptic for Communities of Color,” that cuts into the question further and from different angles, as well as other new articles. And stay tuned all week for news of other developments and actions on this crucial battlefront, where so much—in short, the humanity of women—is at stake.

Ukraine: There is a ball of confusion—an intentionally created ball of confusion—that has been created around Ukraine by U.S. politicians and media, simplifying things into a “good guys/bad guys” narrative (and guess who the “good guys” are). To cut through this, we’re featuring a new piece, “The Fog Of War, The Clarity Of War” by Bob Avakian, as well as our previous coverage. And we’re putting forward a slogan that sharply clarifies the REAL terms:

NO US/NATO WAR WITH RUSSIA! NO WORLD WAR 3!
IT’S THIS SYSTEM, NOT HUMANITY, THAT NEEDS TO BECOME EXTINCT!

This slogan should be spread. And it should be acted upon, on May 1, this year, on revolutionary May 1 actions in Los Angeles and New York. People will come together around that slogan and this one:

WE DON’T ACCEPT THEIR FUTURE
IT’S TIME TO GET ORGANIZED FOR A REAL REVOLUTION

There is other Ukraine coverage as well—along with a new article on the sharply differing treatment of immigrants from Ukraine and the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The Environment: A group called Scientist Rebellion, describing itself as “scientists calling for a climate revolution,” has called for actions globally, to be “on the streets April 4th–9th.” Righteous protest actions by scientists, raising the alarm from those at the forefront of knowing the scale, scope, and existential crisis posed by global warming, is very welcome! Revcom.us will be poised to cover these as they unfold, as well as bringing to the scientists the root causes in the very nature and functioning of the system of capitalism-imperialism, the solution in Revolution, and the radical alternative as envisioned in the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America, authored by Bob Avakian.

Repolarization, How People Think and How to Change It

Repolarizing for revolution is not just a matter of political struggle against the powers—important as that is. It is a matter of struggling with what people think and, even more, how people think. And a number of new articles on the site this week get into this. They include two new pieces from Bob Avakian. These are:

“Four Words For Liberals Who Love America,” in which BA puts out a sharp challenge to such liberals (and everyone else who clings to the notion that somehow, someway America could be a force for good);

“Parasitic Imperialism, Terrible Effects on Basic People—and the Revolutionary Way Out,” also by Bob Avakian, which gets into the very different effects that the “top of the food chain” position of U.S. imperialism has had on different sections of the middle class… and on the basic people, especially the youth in the inner cities. And BA doesn’t just get into the effects of all that on the bitterly oppressed at the bottom of society; he gets into the need to inspire “growing numbers of bitterly oppressed people to dare to dedicate themselves to bringing about the revolution that is urgently needed,” and how to do that.

Finally, there is "Two Points on Will Smith's Slap," commentary from members of the National Tour to Get Organized for an ACTUAL Revolution on Will Smith’s controversial assault on Chris Rock at the Oscars—HOW to understand that, in light of the system we live under… and the society we need. So, yes, the polarization right now is terrible. But YOU have a choice: go along with it, fighting for the illusion of incremental change that proves its disastrous character with every passing day; or act to change it, to repolarize for revolution, to bring something truly emancipatory forward out of the looming horror.
